Collections or Playlists?

OK a lot of the people I share my media with Into things like the Marvel shows and movies, I have got kind of hooked myself.

 

So I'm wondering...

If i wanted to create something with for example the Captain America movies, Agent Carter, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and all the other shows and movies that cross reference each other, with the intention of viewing them in air date order, what would be the best approach for this? 

Would i be better to create a playlist or would this be better served by creating a collection (it's great that collections can traverse library types...something else that's badly lacking in Plex.)

From what I see, at least on my Android phone, there isn't an option to viewed my aired date in playlists? 

 

So does anyone do anything similar and if so would they kindly share the best way of achieving this?

We plan to add sorting and filtering to playlists in the future, in case that helps you decide.
