Chuggy 3 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 I am looking to set up a simple set of Codecs to use with MBC. I'm having some issues with uncompressed WTV files from MCEBuddy. I tried to follow the FFMPEG tutorial, but the MP4 Splitter doesn't appear to support 8.1. What is anyone else using? I also tried to follow a guide for setting up Shark007, but it appears to have a much too complicated set up for me. Any suggestions?
ebr 16169 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Uninstall all codec packs. Install LAV. Done. 1
Yogi 367 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Hi Chuggy, Download Lav Filters and follow this guide. http://www.thehtpc.net/htpc-tips-and-tweaks/media-center-lav-filters-and-external-subtitles/ Everything should work right out of the box.
AgileHumor 123 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 (edited) I had best success with the K-Lite codec pack (basic). I used to use Sharks codec pack, but got too big and lumped in other apps during the installer. The K-Lite also allows you to play FLV, thumbnails to work, etc. Maybe LAV does too. I'd try the LAV and see if that works for you. Less is more. Maybe try K-Lite if that doesn't meet your needs. Edited April 13, 2014 by AgileHumor
Chuggy 3 Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 I'm going to give LAV a shot. The setup seems simple enough. Maybe I missed it in plain sight, but is it posted somewhere that LAV is the way to go? I found a few tutorials on MB3 forums but not for LAV.
