Games on 3.5 have some issues. I have given games a little bit of attention in the 3.6 beta.

@@Luke ... I like ya... I think the world of ya.... but dammit man!!!!! ;)

I took the following quote from the previous thread about emulators I am in to go back to stable so I totally nuked my Beta install

You're running the beta server, therefore I'm assuming you're interested in participating in these kinds of testing activities.

Games are a bit of an extra with Emby. They are not our core focus and our available time to spend on them will be limited. Without community help we will not really be able to offer the feature at all. Thanks.

Can you please... just tell me what I need to do to get games to work??? We are moving into week 4 and my 43rd hour on just trying to get a working game environment within Emby. Games/Programs are my last hold over from MediaPortal and I wont have to use it anymore on my HTPC/Gaming client. I dont mind going back to 3.4.x on this client if thats what I have to do. Or 3.3.x whatever. When was it last working and I will run with that.

To be fair, I did keep all of the Emby folders in AppData/Roaming, but all my metadata other than People and Artists is gone. Right now Games is the only library on this client

And I would refer you again to that previous comment of mine. I have been trying to give games a little attention for the 3.6 release. Obviously they still need a little bit more, but they are in a better place than where they were with 3.5.

Okay, I agree.... again tho..... what do I have to do to get games to work? Which version did they last work on?

So to sum up, from my testing.....

3.6.x = Games don't work

3.5.x = Games don't work

3.4.x = Games don't work

3.3.x = Games don't work

3.2.x = Not tested yet

3.1.x = Not tested yet

3.0.x = Not tested yet

@@Luke Once I reach 3.0 if they still don't work am I allowed to post a thread offering $50 an hour for someone to spend a few hours using Teamviewer fixing my Emby?

I am moving into hour number 50 having been spent on Emby and Games. And its not like there is just one thing wrong here. In all of my testing all three of these issues came into play in one form or another:
Not getting metadata
Metadata or no, there is no Play button to launch a game
The rare times a Play button has shown up it does not work and just sits there when you click it.

@@Luke Can you please answer one of my previous questions:

.... what do I have to do to get games to work? Which version did they last work on?

What was the latest version of Emby that runs games correctly?

*tell

... which version of Emby was the last one that had Games working?

I've merged your topics which are both containing the same question. Thanks.

The question is directed at you @@Luke and I never got an answer. I then asked it to the community to see what they might say, and you took it and put it down here in the plugins section. This does not help.

The question is not when the gamebrowser plugin last worked.... I am talking about the Game library type in Emby.
