vanleeuwen 0 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 HI all, I am new to MB3 although had MB2 and below for years. MB3 is great (except the no entry points thing that really sucks !) although I am finding a few dangerous things that my need a fix. I find it very worrying what video files just go missing and are not in the recycle bin just deleted of the face of the earth. This has been happening with MB3 and as it has access to my entire library I am concerned. What I have found is if I have a new TV Show I create a folder for it with my other shows and move one episode in there and refresh the library. I have all the other episodes in my downloads folder that Auto-organise is linked to so it can pickup the files and move them to the right folders. The other episodes came up in red in Auto-organise so I clicked Organise file and found the only thing missing is the TV show name, so I select it and save. Auto-organise now deletes the file. When I click Organise file again it says it will move the file from the downloads folder to the TV shows folder but the file was already moved to the TV Shows folder so it deletes it. It this a bug or am I missing something ? Also when MB deletes a media file is there a way it can always move it to the recycle bin instead of permanent delete in case its an error and I can retrieve it ? Thanks Michael
Luke 42078 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 it only deletes content from the download directory, unless you have the overwrite option enabled. if that's not what you're seeing i'll need a specific example.
vanleeuwen 0 Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 (edited) HI, No its not deleting from the download directory (it moves to tv show directory then deletes it from the tv shows own directory) and I don't over the overwrite option on. Here is what I gather happens: User downloads an episodes of a NEW tv show to the download directory, User creates new folder in tv series directory for the new show, User runs Auto-organise to move files etc, Although it moves the file to the newly created folder for the tv show its listed in the log in red, User clicks Organise file on MB Server and selects the tv series for file, MB deletes file from the tv shows folder no questions asked. I am not sure what renames the files to the MB standard. I thought would happen with Auto-organise but maybe its during a library refresh. As I wanted the files renamed and images etc downloaded I used Organise file to assign it correctly but this is what deletes the files. I think this is easily replicatable but if you need more info please let me know. Thanks M Edited April 13, 2014 by vanleeuwen
