Live TV long pause followed by jump forward went back to guide

This might be server related as much as Android TV but there's been an ongoing problem with a Live TV stream being paused for a long time and it might be related to the program information changing.  For example, tune to a TV station about 5 pm and then pause it.  The program changes at 5:30, 6:00, 6:30, and 7:00.  After 7, you finally resume the paused TV to watch that ~2 hours worth of recordings.  If you do try to jump at all...problems.  The stream quits so it dumps you back at the guide.

 

I saw it on a SHIELD but I suspect it happens no matter what device is used.
