Create .m3u playlist of local files for IPTV

I'm not sure if this is where this question should be asked, but basically, I would like to add local files I have to a .m3u playlist to import as a "channel" for IPTV.

I know this isn't a major request or desired scenario, but I'm just curious if I can manipulate my channel lineup with a custom channel playing shows I want.

Hi, we don't have a way of doing this, but I'll bet you could probably script something to auto-generate m3u files.

 

Keep in mind two things though:

• Emby live tv guide displays are currently not built to handle massive numbers of channels (we are working on improving this though).
• Emby live tv generally expects infinite source streams, not static video files. I think playback will still probably work but there may be some quirks here and there.

Would the IPTV plugin maybe be a better choice for this?  No EPG to worry about.

 

Just curious but why not use the built in Playlist feature vs trying to shoehorn this same functionality into IPTV?
