danscott7 0 Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 (edited) While I realize there are those who who will simply attribute the problem to the original file, rest assured that is not it. The issue is this: I ripped a CD, through Windows Media Player, to my hard drive. One particular track on the CD, track four, to be exact, plays fine from the CD on my CD ROM drive on my computer. It plays fine from the CD on my car CD player. It also plays fine on my Blu ray player, as well as my Xbox360. Even after the CD is removed from the computer,by the way, the ripped file I create also plays fine. But, when I go to the Emby channel on my Roku Express on my TV, that song will not play past the first ten seconds. I then go to the Roku app on the internet on my computer: same thing. The song will *not* play past the first ten seconds. I have even gone to the Emby app I have on my Android cell phone, and the song will again *not* play past the first ten seconds. In my opinion, it can not be the file or the CD. It must be something wrong with Emby itself. If it were the computer, or the Roku, or the cell phone, it would give me multiple problems with multiple songs. It is just this one particular song. It is very odd, and frustrating, and any help offered would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Edited October 18, 2018 by danscott7
ebr 16199 Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 I'm a bit confused by the "Roku app on your cellphone" but, can you get us this song?
danscott7 0 Posted October 18, 2018 Author Posted October 18, 2018 (edited) Apparently, I misspoke. What I meant was, in the Google Play store, there is an Emby app that I downloaded to my cell phone. The song file will not play there either, not past the ten second mark, anyway. I am unsure what you mean by "getting" you the song. Edited October 18, 2018 by danscott7
ebr 16199 Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 I mean can you put the actual file in Google drive or dropbox or something so we can test it out?

One "feature" of the Emby apps from either the Google Play store or Apple App store is they only play the first few seconds without a paid subscription (or a premium account). This should affect all music and movies.

This should affect all music and movies. They will play 60 seconds, not 10, so I don't think this is the same thing.
