dejo78 0 Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 Brand new install with Auto Organize plug-in... All I get is this when trying to get into Auto Organize Settings - like a bad overlay (tried Chrome and Edge)
Luke 42078 Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 Hi, the online web app is a little bit ahead of your server version. Try using your local built-in web app.

Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 (edited) Look at your screenshot at the active device. You can see the online web app is passing through v3.6.0.55 and your local server is running 3.5.3.0. So do you have the same issue if you logged into your server locally. localhost:8096 or localip:8096 (as seen on dashboard) or click that link Edited October 14, 2018 by Happy2Play

I thought it was implied to download plugin from github and install it locally. Never mind...
dejo78 0 Posted October 14, 2018 Author Posted October 14, 2018 So Auto Organize doesn't scan subfolders?
dejo78 0 Posted October 14, 2018 Author Posted October 14, 2018 OK so what am I doing wrong here? I eliminated all the subfolders and all my mkv episodes are in the main TV folder I have dload folder and that is where my new episodes will be before mkv files are transferred to the main TV folder. I've tried to Scan Library (TV folder) and then Auto Organize but all I get is this
Luke 42078 Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 You can't point auto-organize to a folder that is already imported into Emby. That is not supported. The whole idea is that you point it to a folder that is not yet in Emby.

Luke 42078 Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 There is information in this community. The Auto-Organize plugin is a community addition, and as such, it might not be as polished or as stable the core features of Emby Server. We welcome community contributions to help improve the auto-organize plugin. The source code can be found here: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.AutoOrganize Thanks !
Q-Droid 989 Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Is there a guide to Auto Organize cause I'm just doing trial and error and not really getting how to properly get it working. The path you use for Auto Organize is a staging area for your files and can't already be included as a path to any of your existing Emby media libraries. Auto Organize will move and rename the files from your staging path to the libraries you designate for TV and/or Movies. I often use Auto Organize to reorg my libraries that have older files so that the end result has uniform file/episode names. 1
zachattack83 3 Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 This plug in seems to be very unclear on how its supposed to do what its supposed to do.I created a folder called "staging", and moved one of my movies from my emby movie library folder to it.It didn't rename it, or anything. It just said it was completed, but nothing changed.I then moved another one over, and it failed to work. When I manually tried to set it to movie, it wanted me to select a movie from within my emby libraries. So I guess I am confused on how and what this app is supposed to actually do. I thought it would auto rename all my files and folders so they have some uniformity to them, but I am not seeing that happen.

As such, it may not have the same level of polish as the core server features. Contributions are welcome and the source code can be found here: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.AutoOrganize It sounds to me like it organized everything that it was able to organize, which in this case wasn't anything, and that's why it says completed.
zachattack83 3 Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Photos are showing, that the Auto organize app is claiming the destination will be "/mnt/Emby/Movies/1993 A Perfect World/A Perfect World.mp4"But what the actual is showing, is that its not. It did not add the date, or rename the file.

zachattack83 3 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 I attached the one that is most current. Not only is it not updating the folders and files, its also failing on every movie in the staging folder, that is not already ALSO in the Emby movie library folder. Is it required by the plug in to have these things located in 2 places? I do not follow the logic in this if so.
Luke 42078 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Did you forget to attach the log? I'm not sure what you mean by two folders, but the plugin moves files from a watch folder to a folder inside your libraries.
zachattack83 3 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 ya sorry, forgot to click the "attach this file" button. What I mean is, The perfect world movie, that I linked earlier. If I don't have a copy of that already in the "Movies" folder, then the auto organize won't be able to recognize it in the "staging" folder, and it comes back as failed. So, if I have the movies I want organized in the staging folder, it won't organize them unless they have another copy of themselves in the movies folder. Not sure why it is doing this, but it is failing everything that I dont have a copy of in the other folder. embyserver_1949_01012020.txt

It doesn't need to be there. It looks like it has permissions to overwrite the file if it is already there, but not to create a new one. This is something you'll need to resolve.
zachattack83 3 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 In the pictures attached, you can see what weirdness is going on.It does not seem that permissions are the actual issue, despite it triggering that time.If I manually go through auto organize, and select the movie in the library that this one represents, it will do what it is supposed to do. It creates the folder and renames the movie. However, if the movie is not in the list to select from, it will not allow it to work. So, one of the issues is that the auto organize, is struggling to detect what the movie is. I am not sure how it attempts to do this, because emby itself has no issue finding out the metadata for the same movie. The other issue is, that if there is no version of the same movie existing in the library folder, it will not allow the movie to be organized. Also, when doing this, (photo 6), it does not remove the other existing movie, it just creates a copy of it into the library, and you end up with 2 of the same movie.

This is something you'll need to resolve. It is creating a new one though. Thats why I end up with 2 folders (see last post).
zachattack83 3 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 I ended up enabling the "auto detect for movies" option, which I wasn't sure about because of the whole "beta, use with caution" stuff, and now its detecting and moving MOST of them just fine.So it seems this option has to be enabled to work?
