TroyBennett 9 Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 I currently use tags to disable people from having to see my Christmas movies year around, but I have to go through each individual and delete the blocking of the tag and then go back through again and add the tags to them when I wan't them blocked again...or go through each individual and remove blocking of a certain tag, and then add blocking back to them...anyways I was thinking there has to be a better way... So I was thinking with your seasonal themes if we could somehow tie media to when those are available, the media is also available. And when that seasonal themes goes away, so does the access to the media or optionally add the ability to make media available certain times a year. Anyways, just a thought...
Luke 42095 Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 Hi, I think ultimately smart playlists/smart views is the best approach to this. Why block those items at all? Once we have this feature, then you could just create a smart view around holiday time to get the content closer to the home screen. Then when the holidays are over, you just delete that smart view. But the whole time the titles would still be available in the all movies section. 1
TroyBennett 9 Posted October 14, 2018 Author Posted October 14, 2018 (edited) I have to try that feature out, once available I block them because we don't want to see them when they're not in season. with that, I'm only talking about the pure Christmas stuff, like frosty the snowman, Santa Clause is coming to town etc, Everything else that happens to have a Christmas overtones to it, like Home Alone is fine to keep in my media library year around without tags. Happy2Play 9789 Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 Depending on your media organization, if you put all this media in their own folder and add it to a library you can enable and disable it as needed per user in the next release (3.6). https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/63462-36050-library-access-per-sub-folders/ Or just make a Seasonal Library that you enable and disable as needed per User Access. 1
TroyBennett 9 Posted October 14, 2018 Author Posted October 14, 2018 That's a great idea with the season folder....easier than the way I've been doing it.
