iainsheppard 5 Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I have the following setup.... Media Browser Server Media is mapped from a Synology Media Browser Clients (2) does the Media browser server point the client to the synology to get the file or does the media browser server send the file via its own nic? reason I ask this is the synology and my switch support link aggregation but the Media Browser server only has a 1Gbit NIC. thanks
GhostRider 49 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 (edited) I think the Path Substitution option on the Media Browser Server would help there. Path substitutions are used for mapping a path on the server to a path that clients are able to access. By allowing clients direct access to media on the server they may be able to play them directly over the network and avoid using server resources to stream and transcode them. Under library > Path Substitution tab. Edited April 13, 2014 by GhostRider 2
