happpyg 20 Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 If I have "Live Photos" enabled on my iPhone when I take a picture it also records a small 1-3 second movie clip. This clip has the same filename as the picture but a .MOV extension. I have found that if I copy both the .JPG and the .MOV to my pictures folder Emby will only add the .MOV and ignores the .JPG. If I have realitme folder scanning on and then delete the .MOV it finds the .JPG straight away and adds it to the library. So basically it looks like Emby is not adding any .JPG's where there is a .MOV with the same filename in the same folder. Cheers
Luke 42085 Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 What content type is the library on emby server?
happpyg 20 Posted October 13, 2018 Author Posted October 13, 2018 Thanks Luke, library type where photos are stored is set to Mixed Content. Fairly sure I used to have this set to Home Videos and Photos (or maybe just the old "Photos"?), could an upgrade have changed automatically this as i've had this running for years now without changes?
Happy2Play 9783 Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 I believe there was a change to this awhile ago and you have to enable Photos in Home Videos and Photos.
happpyg 20 Posted October 13, 2018 Author Posted October 13, 2018 In that case I must have used the old "Photos" library type as I have not changed this library type since I first started with Emby back in the early version 3's. Is this a bug with the Mixed Content Library type or do I need to remove and re-add the new library type which i'd rather not if I don't have to? I can't see anywhere that tells me what the difference is between Home Videos & Photos and Mixed Content. The only items I have in this library are pictures and home movies so guessing the Home Videos & Photos type may be more appropriate? Thanks guys!
Happy2Play 9783 Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 Home Videos & Photos don't have any metadata downloaders or provider image fetchers. So everything in that content type will not try to fetched from providers.
happpyg 20 Posted October 13, 2018 Author Posted October 13, 2018 Ahh ok that makes sense. So in this case should I remove this library and add a new one with that type or wait to see if there is an issue with duplicate file names (minus extension) with Mixed Content? I have a large 70k+ photos library so don't want to change unless I have to or there is an advantage? Thanks!
Luke 42085 Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 You should use the home videos content type.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 I would change content type so your server isn't spamming provider sites searching for things that don't exist.
happpyg 20 Posted October 13, 2018 Author Posted October 13, 2018 Hi Guys, I just did the same test with a Library set to Home Videos & Photos and it still does the same thing, am I missing something? Thanks
Luke 42085 Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 Please try again with the next release of Emby Server. Thanks.
