Starkadius 219 Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 (edited) Issue originally submitted to Github https://github.com/MediaBrowser/MediaBrowser.WindowsPhone/issues/162 As per ScottIsAFool's instructions I have moved the issue submission here since it appears to be server related. Issue: When attempting to play any live tv channel it gives a video failed to play message on Windows Phone MB App. Playback works on Firefox and Chrome for the PC (desktop browsers). Server Version: 3.0.5211.41935 ServerWMC Version: 1.0.0.28, build: 1134 Server-LogWP8-Log Edited April 12, 2014 by Starkadius
Tikuf 663 Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Possibly due to the fact we have no media info for live tv? @@Luke
mjktg99 35 Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 There is an issue with IE. Does Windows phone use an IE Browser? From my pc, it works on chrome but not IE (haven't tried Firefox.)
Starkadius 219 Posted April 12, 2014 Author Posted April 12, 2014 There is an issue with IE. Does Windows phone use an IE Browser? From my pc, it works on chrome but not IE (haven't tried Firefox.) Yes, WP uses IE and has had issues playing back videos which I reported. I am not sure if the IE playback and the MB app playback are related because all other videos on the MB app stream correctly but you may be right though because videos playback fine on IE11 for desktop but Live TV does not stream on IE11 desktop. I have adjusted the issue description to specify the windows phone MB app.
bennymac 47 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 I can't play LiveTV through IE as well, either on the full desktop version or on my surface 2. It's worked on ocassion through the different builds but currently i'm getting the "The Video failed to play" error also. I too am using Server Version: 3.0.5211.41935 ServerWMC Version: 1.0.0.28, build: 1134 Firefox seems to work fine though!
TheHedgehogSong 0 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Same here - IE11 does not seem to work at the moment with mediabrowser Lve TV. If this feature is added to the app, no big deal, I have that on WindowsPhone, my Surface2 and all the PCs running Win8, but it sure would be nice to have the option to play it via IE11 too. Of course this is no high priority issue for me, just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of windows-based mobile users. With the surface and WP there actually are no alternatives to using IE11 so this effectively cuts out Live TV at the moment there.
