Relle1 0 Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 I plan on buying this server:Server Package F includes 2 x Intel Xeon Processors with a total of 16 cores 32 GB of RAM (upgradable but this will be a great start) First drive = 240GB for Windows installation Second Drive = 1TB Sata Third Drive = 1TB Sata Raid Settings = Raid 1 for data protection Are there instructions in the wiki on how to add my emby and devices to this server?
Luke 42077 Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 Hi ! Have you checked out our quick start guide? https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Quick%20start You basically just install Emby Server on your new server machine and then you can access it from those other devices. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks !
Relle1 0 Posted October 11, 2018 Author Posted October 11, 2018 How many devices can I add to a server like that?
Thuzad 50 Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 It all depends on how many people are watching at the same time ..
maegibbons 1287 Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 (edited) Your 2nd and 3rd drives are way too small for any reasonable size library. You should change to 8TB Unless you have a seperate NAS as a datastore Krs Mark Edited October 11, 2018 by maegibbons 1
mastrmind11 722 Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 and raid 1 is _not_ data protection. 1

Relle1 0 Posted October 11, 2018 Author Posted October 11, 2018 Not using emby for TV shows and movies, but for the live TV and dvr application. I might store a few pre-recorded ppv, but that's about it. Does other users live tv recordings get stored on their devices and not the server?
maegibbons 1287 Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 And the number of people at once is? A VERY rough guide is a core per user. Krs Mark
