BenDover 3 Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 I'm not sure if i missed this, but metadata manager no longer gives me the error triangles or messages that series, seasons or episodes are missing metadata, pictures etc. Is that the expected behavior?
Luke 42085 Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 Hi, I don't think this is very user friendly. We need a better way, like a search filter for example. Thanks.
BenDover 3 Posted October 8, 2018 Author Posted October 8, 2018 Sounds like a good solution to me. So, i guess should i still be getting those triangles or icons next to shows that are missing data?
BenDover 3 Posted October 8, 2018 Author Posted October 8, 2018 OK cool. Possible future update would include something like you had mentioned?
jhschulz 3 Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Hi, I just noticed that these icons are no longer there. Luke, you said that it is not very user friendly to have them. Why? I really liked them, because I could immediately see if there are missing images anywhere. Now I have to go through every single item and check the images myself - that is not very user friendly. Please put them back or add a filter to find items with missing images! Thanks.
Luke 42085 Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Because it's not obvious what they are. And it also leads some users into thinking that something is wrong.
paulsalter 84 Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Sounds like people need to be educated on what the symbols meant instead of removing the whole feature for everyone Hopefully the replacement allows you to see at a glance what items have missing metadata without having to go through a filter
jhschulz 3 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 It's not obvious what they are? OK, the look could be improved to be more obvious, but there was a mouse-over with a clear description. Some users thought that something is wrong? Where is the problem? There is something wrong if metadata is missing. At least from the perspective of a metadata manager. If a user uses the metadata manager, it's because she/he wants to manage the metadata. To be able to do this, you need to know which item has missing metadata and needs to be managed. Without this icons this is not really possible anymore. The only way to find missing metadata (like missing images) now is to browse through your libraries the "normal" way and see if there is something missing (or wrong). But than you can directly change it from there, no need to use the metadata manger. Without these icons, which gave a quick overview of items with missing metadata, I think the metadata manager is pretty useless now. So, please add them back. Maybe with the option to enable/disable them? Thanks. 1
Luke 42085 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 I think a filter to locate items that are missing certain images would be best.
