markdj 49 Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 (edited) For the life of me I've been trying for 2 days to scrape Dragon Ball Z Kai data, but all I get is duplicate episodes (in season 1) and season 2 doesn't even scrape at all. I've tried different ordering and grabbing from different sites but it doesn't seem to work. I can't even get them to show up properly so I can rename them myself. Season 1 shows up with episode 100, while only 98 episodes are it and duplicates as you can see. Season 1 has been renamed using Filebot but it unfortunately doesn't recognize season 2 properly. Any ideas on how to get this implemented properly? Edited October 8, 2018 by markdj
Luke 42080 Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 Hi there, have you compared your file names to our supported naming conventions?
markdj 49 Posted October 8, 2018 Author Posted October 8, 2018 I have, yes. Before Filebot they were named differently but that also did not work.
Luke 42080 Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 What exactly about the metadata is wrong? can you go over an example? thanks. 1
markdj 49 Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 Never mind, I removed it from the library. It was impossible to fix.
djhifi 56 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 (edited) Never mind, I removed it from the library. It was impossible to fix. (Your specific solution is below my posted print screen, but I must say the following first): It kinda doesn't help when you get asked for examples and you don't give them rather choosing the method of nuking the whole thing up and labelling it impossible. Nope, it isn't. I have that TV Show correctly scrapped. The first post you made, contains a print screen which isn't helpful at all. All it shows is what you already explained: Doubling the episode. What about providing the filenames on a print screen? I use thetvdb as first and preferred scrapper for TV Shows and my file structuring is as follows (quick example, since I'm to lazy to lookup where DBZ Kai is): You have to lookup DBZ Kai yourself in the forums of thetvdb to know how to name it: https://forums.thetvdb.com/viewtopic.php?t=43145 and https://forums.thetvdb.com/viewtopic.php?t=47234 It also doesn't help not knowing what kind of release you got...but I will risk in saying that you probably have some scene release that took into account what Wikipedia says and not IMDB or Thetvdb, which are (both) the scrapper of choice on 98% of the media servers out there, not the other way around. Some TV Shows are not prone to being fully automated, since they have their quirks for a manual naming convention. Another example is "Ancient Aliens" (the TV Show). History Channel got rid of seasons 9 to 12 and skipped right onto season 13. Filebot would render all the naming (and in my case also subtitles) a complete mess. Since the scene was issuing seasons 9, 10, 11, you got it… Or "Brain Games" (Nat Geo). I mean, there are tons of examples out there. This is one of the examples as to why I personally don't encourage full automation. An advice for the future: Get rid of Filebot and if you still want to keep some form of auto-naming, use "AF5 Rename Your Files" instead. While it keeps the mass-rename feature, it needs to be manually issued. Furthermore you say you've spent 2 days, but not even 1 min in Google it seems...yikes! Nuking a whole release for sheer laziness...my dear ratio Cheers Edited October 10, 2018 by djhifi
markdj 49 Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 (edited) Look, I've been working on this for a few days now and it can't get fixed without some MASSIVE hassle. I have the Blu-ray release, the international one, which has 167 episodes instead of 161 (if I'm correct). The TVDB uses the Japanese (161) one. Naming is done via Filebot, using TVDB and others. None of them work. Yes, they are named correctly. It's one of the few shows that doesn't scrape properly. You can show me 200.000 of your shows on a screenshot; it isn't about THIS SERIES, or even RELEASE. Give it a try yourself and then come barking back at me again. Edited October 10, 2018 by markdj

While you were answering me I was editing my post with EVEN more info (Talk about doing homework or being un-thankful to someone else). You're finally providing some more information. That was a tough one! You're funny. I'm talking about the same TV Show you're talking about: (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Dragon_Ball_Z_Kai_episodes). I even provided links to thetvdb issues you're having.. You have to name some episodes "E01E02" (just an example) to conform with thetvdb naming conventions and shorter ep count. No hassle whatsoever, just ignorance from your behalf. Which is what I was trying to demonstrate on a friendly manner. And I don't bark, by the way. That was just rude and stupid to someone that was actually trying to help you out. Cheers Edited October 10, 2018 by djhifi
markdj 49 Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 Filebot was just an example for renaming. I've named them myself, differently many times, and it doesn't work. The fact that the scrapers use the Japanese version make this one difficult and for now impossible to fix without some manual modifications. Also, instead of helping me you're insulting me (last sentence) and acting like I'm an idiot who doesn't know how things work. Yeah, you better be gone then; I have no time for that myself.

What are you even talking about I made a post filled with feedback and links. And I just called you lazy after spending 10min writing and pasting links to you. Do not place words in my fingers. I think that's true, you were too lazy to google the specific situation of the naming conventions regarding that particular TV Show, which is why not only did I provide links as well as explained the situation myself one post after. You have to name 2 or more EPs in one to handle the EP count. If I was nitpicky I could say that actually you were the one implying that I was an idiot (with that thing about me talking of a dif. show and not doing homework) and I let that one slip and all, since you seem a rather easy-angering person. If Filebot was just an example of renaming then why not say it in the first place? As well as the release you've got? You seem to have some troubles communicating and misinterpreting things, in my opinion. There are more people with your hassle and all I did was providing links to such examples. I have the TV Show myself as I told you. And I grabbed the international release myself some months ago. I actually tried helping but you seem to have everything sorted out. I'll see myself out indeed. You're a very unthankful and rude individual. Cheers and good luck. Edited October 10, 2018 by djhifi
markdj 49 Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 (edited) Dude, are you even reading? I've been Googling for 2 days straight; talk about 'placing words in my fingers' And I'm lazy... But that's not the issue. Combining episodes into one filename isn't the solution here, it doesn't work for this particular series (and is also not what I want, I want it to scrape it properly). And the last part I find hard to believe since you would've started the conversation with that most likely. I get rude when people start insulting (lazy is an insult when I've been working on this for days now). Try again when you have the same release and issue. Bye now. As for the mods, please just close this thread. Edited October 10, 2018 by markdj

And the last part I find hard to believe since you would've started the conversation with that most likely. Yes, I'm reading. "working for 2 days on this" tells me nothing when I can come up with links under 1min that show you that you have 3 solutions: 1 - nuke the whole thing up or lock metadata on that particular show. 2 - ask moderators over at Thetvdb to (once again) open the series up for editing (won't happen) 3 - combine episodes into one filename (yes, it is the solution for the episode count at least). 4 - Try this solution yourself: Bottom line: You're def. not doing all you can here. Believe me. And I don't know what last part you're referring to as being "hard to believe in" in my posts but anyway... There are over 191 releases of Dragon Ball Z Kai where I got it from, so it's up to you believe me or not. I don't bother with that. There's probably a language barrier of some sort going on in here and I actually don't have any more time or will to write back to you on this matter. You're misinterpreting things, already insulted me for barking, etc. All good, and bye. Edited October 11, 2018 by djhifi
markdj 49 Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 Lol, like I don't know about the first 2 things. It's why I removed the series in the first place (problem solved; yet you revive this thread and then give me the same option still). Renaming episodes isn't a solution. I don't care about the episodes count I just want them named and sorted correctly in Emby itself, which isn't possible because of the scrapers. Hence why I deleted it. Problem solved.
Ponyo 22 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 I had the same problem. Gave up on fixing it and just dealt with the wrong names. Seen it a bunch of times already so it wasn't a big deal for me. I wonder if it's possible not to scrape any data for this series and just show the file names as is?
Luke 42080 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Did you see post #6? You can also lock individual series. 1

The youtube vídeo I posted explains it very well. I have adopted that solution. Or just lock metadata. Lol, like I don't know about the first 2 things. If you knew about the first 2 thing you would've just locked metadata like Luke also suggested, as a last resort. Deleting is just nonsense. And you know it by now. You just don't like being helped or told differently, that's all. I'm hardly reviving anything that has less than 2 days old. Reading on your answers after asking for help (and being helped ALOT; with links and vídeos) is self-explanatory. Last one here. Cheers Edited October 11, 2018 by djhifi
