radekk 0 Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 (edited) Hello to everybody. Emby runs on the Ubuntu virtual server. Where can I see and I have access to my main server. I have the next one. But in Emby I set them manually and I can not access them from Emby. Will anyone advise how to do it? I have it available on media / sf_Video and the other on media / sf_Foto Thanks Edited October 8, 2018 by radekk
Luke 42077 Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 Hi, what do you mean exactly by can not access them from Emby? What happens?
radekk 0 Posted October 9, 2018 Author Posted October 9, 2018 (edited) Emby runs on virtual server in Virtualbox, a new installation. I have shared folders that are available in Ubuntu. Emby can not. Why? What should I do to make it happen. Edited October 9, 2018 by radekk

Luke 42077 Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Have you made sure that emby server has read access to these folders?
radekk 0 Posted October 9, 2018 Author Posted October 9, 2018 Have you made sure that emby server has read access to these folders? He probably does not have that, and I do not know how to do it.
EODCrafter 181 Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 (edited) He probably does not have that, and I do not know how to do it. Adding the emby user to the group that has access to the media folder works. $ sudo usermod -a -G unix_user embyReboot or restart emby-server. EDIT: Sorry - this is not the right solution. Folders with permissions 755 won't be accessible by emby obviously. I reinstalled emby, and it clearly asks during installation what user to run it with. However, it still runs as user emby after installation. Additionally chmoding media folder to 775 should fix this, but only as a workaround. radekk 0 Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 Emby runs on virtual Ubuntu. Photos and videos are stored on the home server where they are shared into Virtualbox. As a user in Ubuntu, I can use the photo and video folders. I'm in Ubuntu in the vboxsf group as well as in the emby group. However, I can not get to shared folders from emba. I am sorry for my English. I can not, I use a compiler.
