IceBoosteR 10 Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Hi all, I was interested how the audio transcoding in general works. I have used the search function of couse, but wasn't able to find anything around that topic. What I am interested in is the following: You have ripped a UHD BD where you have a DTS:X audio stream. Now my TV is not capable of DTS, so I assume it will be transcoded to AC3 as this is supported. But how will this be done, and how much quality loss will be there? For example do I loose channels down to 5.1 or will 7.1 be supported? How much will the bitrate be affected? Any information would be awesome - as I love this software! Thanks 1
Luke 42080 Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 It really depends on what app you're playing from, and what the app supports. But yes, there are cases when we do this.
