Movie Genre cleaner plugin lost all genre mapping (merging)

I have 2 separate movies library, the largest for English and a smaller one for French. This way English movies have descriptions and arts in English, and so on for French movies.

I have noticed for some weeks now that any new movies I add to the French movies library show no genre once they're added. No refresh/rescan of any kind seems to fix them. I have to look up those movies on themoviedb.org and manually add the genre(s) myself. All other attributes seem OK.

Is there a setting I don't know about that could be the culprit?

PS: I have Movie Genre Cleaner Plugin enabled.

Hi, If there are no genres on MovieDb, then what is the problem here?

No Luke,

I am not adding the genre on themoviedb.org website. I look it up on their website, and then manually edit-it in emby movie metadata.

I would check your metadata settings for that library as well as the settings in the genre cleaner plugin.

I think I've found the problem, on the Movie Genre plugin side.

Only genres written in English were allowed. ie: Adventure was allowed but no mention of Aventure, Drama allowed, not trace of Drame. All genre that are written differently in French then English are missing.

I used to have all those French genres name mapped to their English counterparts, I have none of those left.

Can you provide a specific example.

Ok so then it sounds like you just need to configure the genre plugin.

Yes, I need to REconfigure this plugin, it lost all French Genre name map to English Genre name.

I am already done and scanning the libraries, so no, Happy, I can't provide an example anymore.

So basically, about one month ago give or take, I lost all genre mapping in Movie Genre Cleaner plugin. Must have been a bad update to the plugin or to Emby that would have caused that. For me and most users, this is  pretty much set it and forgot it, mine was done 3 or 4 years ago.

Anyone using Genre Cleaner should check if their respective genre mapping genres is still intact.

For instance, I was mapping Science Fiction to Sci Fi (to avoid having both as they're pretty similar), Musical to Music, and so on.
