Artwork Question

1)

I use a program that adds artwork the way kodi likes, and creates the following folders: .actor, extrafanart, extrathumbs.

 

Does emby even read those images from those folders?

 

2)

In emby I have the option to save artwork next to media and I see that Emby downloads "backdrops", but I don't see any backdrop image saved in the media folder.

 

Where is the backdrop image saved?

 

 

I don't think I need the extrafanart and extrathumbs folders, so I was thinking on deleting those 2.

emby saves them to the extrafanart folder and will read them - check "edit images" for the movie

 

and can create the extrathumbs folder as well if you want

 

check your server settings

I know Emby doesn't use the .actors folder, as there is a central peoples folder in metadata.  At least in current stable version as there are changes coming in the next release 3.6.

No it won't, the metadata\people folder will be read from if it exist and any new people images will go to metadata\library\xx\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx id folders.
