The volume on my remote controls my AV receiver. I noticed everything I play through MBT is significantly lower than anything else going through the HTPC. I've started a movie and tried to find how to increase the volume by using my keyboard but can't seem to find the volume control.. I'm sure it's right there in front of me but can't find it. So how do I turn up the volume on MBT?? I feel like a jerk even asking this.

I use the volume up and volume down buttons on my keyboard. MBT's volume is directly tied to the volume in Windows as far as I can tell..

Thanks. Found it (as he smacks himself in the head) Strange thing is the volume was all the way up. Still a significance level difference between MBT and either streaming or WMC. No big deal. That's why they invented the volume control.

Could you perhaps let everyone know WHERE you found it?

Why is the volume of the same file so much lower in Theater than in Classic??

To me it seems the opposite, volume for MBC is tied to Windows. With Windows volume at 100%, any file played using MBC is as loud as it is using pretty much any other media player (all things being equal).

But the same file played using MBT is significantly lower in volume.

Damn it Chloe, we're running out of time. Use the not a computer device!

That is a completely different issue to this thread. To turn the volume up or down you adjust the volume in Windows. That is separate from MBT being able to achieve the same maximum volume as other clients.

Is my issue a known issue that I can find an already posted solution to, or should I post a new thread? I've already done a search, but was unable to find anything (other than this thread).

I am sure it is a known issue. Probably needs a new thread though.

Benetton's. Guess I started a new thread last night, but today's coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

You probably know this, but I'll put it out there just in case.

If you click on the volume icon in the TaskBar, then click "Mixer", you'll get individual volume settings of all open programs that have a sound output. MBT has its own, while MBC is obviously dependent on Windows Media Center. MBT doesn't appear until you start playing media.

Try this.....

Sounds -> Playback

Mark and open Properties for your output channel.

Go to Enhancements and check "Loudness Equalization"
