Bazzu85 22 Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 So, I'm setupping emby for the first time (moving from plex).. during the night the scheduled task "sync library to trakt" started and all the new show imported in emby were marked as unwhatched on trakt (using plex these shows was corretcly in progress).. I attach the configuration page.. is it normal?
Luke 42078 Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Hi, can you please provide the server log to prove this? @@J2ghz, any thoughts based on his trakt settings? thanks.
Bazzu85 22 Posted October 5, 2018 Author Posted October 5, 2018 Here's the log.. the sync to trakt started at 3.30 and overwrited all watched status as in my emby server.. Log 20181005.txt
Bazzu85 22 Posted October 5, 2018 Author Posted October 5, 2018 Just for give you more info.. I had Doctor who (2005) watched on plex/trakt Added the show to emby and not runned the "import playstates" task Overnight the "sync library to trakt.tv" task runned setting all episode of doctor who unwatched (as on emby server) This morning running manually the "import playstates" nothing happen because trakt was updated during the night.. sad story: runned a full sync on plex and the show is marked all unwatched also on plex... I had to run a simple push..
Luke 42078 Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 First of all the sync library to trakt scheduled task never runs by default. It would only run if you set the schedule for it.
Bazzu85 22 Posted October 6, 2018 Author Posted October 6, 2018 First of all the sync library to trakt scheduled task never runs by default. It would only run if you set the schedule for it. ok, maybe during first setup I setted it.. but why all unwhatched content on server was updated as unwatched also on trakt? the settings speaks clearly in my opinion.. thx
Luke 42078 Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 Well if its unwatched in Emby, then the setting will mark it unwatched on Trakt.
Bazzu85 22 Posted October 6, 2018 Author Posted October 6, 2018 so you're saying that: import playstate from trakt works in both way's? so - If I have a movie watched on my server and not watched on trakt (maybe caused by a connection lost to trakt), the movie is marked as watched on trakt - if I have a movie watched on trakt and not watched on my server, the movie is marked as watched on my server and sync library to trakt works in one direction overwriting all watch state on trakt mantaining the server as master?
Bazzu85 22 Posted October 6, 2018 Author Posted October 6, 2018 I made a test 1. disconnected from internet 2. marked as watched a movie on server 3. re-connected to internet 4. run import playstate from trakt 5. the movie is still watched on server and not to trakt So I'm thinking that the correct procedure to have uptodate trakt with server (assuming that when the item is marked watched on server is not on trakt) is: 1. run import playstate (that ignore unwatched on trakt) 2. run sync library to trakt to update the watched state of items marked as watched during connection failure correct?
paulsalter 84 Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 I have had this before (not just with Emby) For any s/w i set up now with Trakt, the first thing i do is an import from Trakt For me, I do the import from Trakt every 3 hours This picks up anything i have manually set as watched in Trakt It also makes sure any new items i add to my library (That are watched via Trakt) show as watched in Emby, then sync doesnt mark them as unplayed on Trakt I then have the sync set to once per day (6am), this is mainly as a backup for any items that dont get sent to Trakt due to Trakt down etc
Bazzu85 22 Posted October 6, 2018 Author Posted October 6, 2018 I think this os a correct approach to not have problems..
paulsalter 84 Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 Should work for you scenario in post #9 The only thing to be wary of (depending upon how much content you add) An import from Trakt needs to be done before a sync (unless all content added is new), this is why i went for a 3 hour import and a sync at 6am
