Hi

I am migrating my server over to a new computer. I followed the steps on the wiki page and configured my backup plugin. The settings have been backed up to a folder. I installed Emby on the new machine however I think I'm missing a step. When I install Emby on the new machine, I installed the plugin as well but the plugin doesn't give me an option to configure it so I can point it to the folder with the backup info. I'm assuming I missed something. I'm sure this is a common problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. What do you mean by "the plugin doesn't give you an option"?  What, exactly, happens when you try to configure it?

Make sure the plug-in is up to date as well.

Thanks.

When I click to configure, the plugin just says "Uninstall" it doesn't give me a settings option like the plugin from the old server. I know I installed the latest version of the plugin. So, ideally when I install the plugin in the new server it should let me configure it and point it to the folder with the backups so I can restore what was backed up to the new server....am I correct?

What is the version number of the plug-in?

What is the OS of the server?

It's on Windows 10.

I'm pretty sure I installed the latest version of the plugin but I am not home right now. I will check when I get home and let you know for sure.

Yes please let us know. Thanks.

What browser?  Any browser add-ons?

Do you get the same if you click on the image instead of the three dot menu?

Using Explorer browser. No browser addons. I just bought the computer literally got it yesterday. When I click on the actual picture it says This plugin has no settings to configure

Have you added your Emby Premier key to the server?

Yes, I pasted the key in. Do I need to restart the server afterwards?

You can try.  Never seen this issue before.  You could try uninstalling the plugin and reinstalling it.

ok, I changed the browser to chrome and for some reason it had 2 extra steps that the other browser didn't give me. I did the steps and now the plugin has the "settings" tab. So I pointed the path to the backup folder and hit save and nothing happens. The instructions say a restore notification should come up.

What browser were you using before?

on the previous computer I have been using the Explorer browser. I figured I would do the same thing on the new one. So I have used both Chrome and Explorer and I get the same result. The settings feature is enabled on the plugin but when I point the plugin to the backup folder, I hit save and all it says settings saved.

Using Explorer browser.

Are you sure about that?  Win 10 should be "Edge", not Internet Explorer.  Perhaps you were using an old IE and that's where the problem lies...

Also, I'm not sure you ever confirmed your server version to us.  What is that?

Actually, yes you are correct. It is Edge. I'm using Edge on both the old and new machines. I actually played around to make sure I tried the different browsers just in case. Server version 3.5.3.0

Could it be something blocking the restore function on the plugin?

Are you sure the backup location is correct and accessible by the server process?  Where is it?

The screen, once you've properly entered the location, should show you the backups that exist there:

Can you show us the above screen shot on your machine and then also an Explorer (file not internet) window showing the contents of the folder you pointed the plug-in to...?

Okay, and what does it look like on the new one?

And what kind of drive is F:?  Does the new machine have access to it?

F drive is an external hard drive with the folder in it. I don't have access to the new machine now but I will send a pic of the new server as soon as as I get home.

Thanks!

You can't point to the actual backup.  Point to Backup Folder.
