Sammy 790 Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 (edited) I'm in process of moving my Emby Data from a spinner to a spare 128Gb Crucial SSD that used to be a boot drive in another machine a few years back for better speed navigating Emby but I can't because the Emby data exceeds the capacity of the drive. Do I need to move the sync folder? How to safely parse it and then keep it under control going forward? It seems at this rate I could end up with Terabytes gobbled up. Happy2Play 9785 Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 Isn't the sync folder just suppose to be a temporary path? Specify a custom sync working folder. Converted media created during the sync process will be stored here. But I guess this folder could get as large as your library if you sync a lot and everything stays in that folder.
Sammy 790 Posted September 27, 2018 Author Posted September 27, 2018 I'll take a look. Is it safe to move to the SSD and re-point Emby Server to the SSD for the metadata and cache folders without moving the sync folder? I think this will make my system much faster on all apps, no? Sammy 790 Posted September 27, 2018 Author Posted September 27, 2018 It contains a whole lot of folders named as such with each folder containing an mp4 of the same name. Since I have no syncing to my phone or anything like that happening I think I'll delete all this but how to prevent this in the future? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
