Hey Gents,

Apologies if this has already been discussed/reported but I tried to use the app this morning and it redirected me to app.emby.media to login but site is saying that it's not secure. I decided not to login for security purposes. I don't see anywhere this has been reported. I could be wrong. Can ya take a look.

There is no certificate on plain http. You can use the https version, but be aware you'll only be able to connect to your emby server if you have set up ssl.

Why would the authentication part happens in http? Using the app in http is understood but my login should happen in https. I don't recall it was that way.

Because your emby server only supports http. Setup https and then you can login with https.

Or use Emby Connect, and then yes, the initial authentication part will be https.

This has nothing to do with my server. Try to go to emby.media, select 'sign in'

If you say that changing from https to http is expected than i'll login and since this is your site i'll take your word for it. I don't recall that was ever the case. As you can see, there is no way for the site to know about my server. I haven't even logged in yet.

Because you visited

http://app.emby.media

That's what happens when you visit an http site. You can see the same thing by visiting

http://espn.com

If you have setup ssl with your server, then you can use

https://app.emby.media

Additionally the Emby app for ios never used to give me a link "https://emby.media"to select on to go login. It use to provide an option to manually login through the app or pin to go to the site and active the device.

Nothing has changed with the iOS sign in process.

When I navigate to https:\\emby.media and I select "Sign In" from the site, it is automatically redirecting me to "app.emby.media." I am not the one typing it. Also it is not an ssl issue on my server side because I have not login yet; therefore, emby.media does not know whether my remote site is using either ssl or not. That's the point I am trying to make.

Once again, if you prefer https, then change the url to what i said above:

https://app.emby.media

The button has to remain pointing to the http version because the https version can only connect to Emby Servers that are SSL enabled.

Then I don't know. All I am getting now on the app is a black screen with just an the url "https://emby.media"in the center.

I am at work right now and I can not send a screenshot but please check or have someone from your team check.
