A lot of thumb images missing

I just completed a new install of Emby server today with the latest Stable version.

 

I am seeing a LOT of thumbs missing on the web app and any other app I am trying to use. Posters all seem to be fine. 

 

I think I saw another thread about this on the Beta server but not sure if it's known to be an issue on the Stable version as well.

Looks like the issues at FanArt.tv.

 

Luke, I think we are going to have to disable downloading all images in advance.  We may be responsible for a large part of the hammering they are taking.

Thanks for the answer @@ebr - Is there another service that provides those thumbs? I can't remember what tvdb provides besides the posters but I thought they had thumbs too.

 

Maybe that could be a backup solution?

Well it's off by default so you have to turn it on, but yes we could consider that.

A quick look seems they only have back drops and posters.

 

 

I was also perusing the TVDB and it doesn't look like they have thumbs either. Didn't they used to? I could have sworn they did.

Fanart.tv is the only source for Logo, Thumb/Landscape and ClearArt.

Yeah, that was what I found out too. 

 

I have noticed that since I installed the server, slowly, over time the thumbs start showing up. 

 

I guess they are getting hammered and it just takes longer for things to show up. Emby can't be the only one right? I imagine since they seem to be the only provider of certain images pretty much every media server or source that pulls those images are using them.

I am totally in to doing this. I am looking at the VIP lifetime (1st tier) - is there some way to do it so they know it was recommended from the Emby platform? Also, do my benefits for membership work via the API key I input in the Emby settings?

 

I have contributed over there in the past (quite a while ago) both via money and artwork uploads (search Hustle & Flow).

 

Anyway, this is a great idea for everyone to do by the way! We should support those opensource projects that contribute to our media center.
