Question: Manual selection for transcoding per device

Hi,

Just a small question regarding transcoding.

Is it possible to force the transcoding for an specific device?

For example, I have some hevc videos that would play in xbox one S, but not very well on my android then I would like to transcode it as emby is not correctly detecting my phone and had same problem with Xbox One fat.

So, instead of emby trying to identify the device automatically, we would set it manually per device.

Exemple In short words: this "device" will only direct play AVC and AC3 codecs, apart of this, every video has to be transcoded.

I know that I can do it lowering the bitrate to a lower value from the video, but doing this for all videos and everytime would be very tiring.

Regards.

The device bitrate setting is persisted, so you'd only have to do it once.

Yes that is correct. Please let us know if this helps.

This true and works Fine, but the problem is transcoting HEVC. From what I found, for instance a 10 mbit HVEC is more or less equals to 20 mbit AVC. So if I lower the bit hate I will have less then half of the quality. It is a big difference.

I can see this difference in the screen.

If not possible to have the manual device settings, would be possible at least force a transcoding with out lowering bitrate?

It's possible for the future. Thanks.
