AVS 0 Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Hello, I recently saw advertising for Emby VOD. I'm new at Emby and I would like to know if there is a difference between the Premiere TV Apps offering and the VOD content offered for a yearly fee (vs lifetime fee on Premiere). Thanks!
Luke 42077 Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Hi, where did you see this? Emby Premiere is from the Emby Team. Emby VOD sounds like someone looking to capitalize on our name in a fraudulent manner. We have no affiliation with Emby VOD.
Sammy 790 Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Someone selling their Emby Premier device slots, no doubt.
AVS 0 Posted September 12, 2018 Author Posted September 12, 2018 Did I uncover something bad? I still did not get an answer to my initial question. i guess I'm not clear what the Premiere TV offers.
Luke 42077 Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Hi there, you can learn about Emby Premiere on our website: https://emby.media/premiere.html We're happy to answer any other questions. Thanks !
AVS 0 Posted September 12, 2018 Author Posted September 12, 2018 The reason I originally asked the question was because, after looking at the link you mentioned I was not clear if the free apps allow me to watch movies and shows, VOD mode.
Luke 42077 Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Hi, Emby is a personal media server. You have to bring your own media files. I would suggest checking out our quick start guide: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Quick%20start Thanks.
BAlGaInTl 288 Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Hmmm... Pretty bold to run a clearly illegal service and have the nerve to send users to the official Emby site to create an account.
Carlo 4560 Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 Hence why Emby has device limits and why the server and clients check on this. Once the device counts hit a certain number it becomes obvious someone is using their software for illegal purposes and their account can be shut down to protect the company name.
