Metadata Problem: The Wrong Michelle

I noticed that MB3 is displaying the wrong Michelle Williams as the lead in "My Week With Marilyn":

 

 

I tried using the metadata editor in the Browser Client to delete her from the movie listing. She was removed from the cast list, but when I refreshed the movie, back she came again.

 

I see from the configuration that the metadata downloaders used are (1) The Open Movie Database and (2) TheMovieDb. Both of which have the correct Michelle Williams listed; e.g. here's the OMDb:

 

 

So where's the wrong Michelle coming from, and more importantly, how can I stop it and get the right one? Thanks.

I guess the real question is how does MB3 handle actors with same name.  Are Actor images downloaded by name or by associated movies? 

 

TMDB has 3 Michelle Williams people images, But I am going to report one as duplicate.

I would guess your IBN\people image is wrong, removing from cast list won't change the image in your IBN\people folder.

The information we are provided for actors (or any people for that matter) is just a name so there is no way for us to know which Michelle it is.   But, if you manually put the right information in the IBN folder then it should work - until you have a movie with one of the others....

 

I'm afraid this isn't an issue that is going to be quickly or easily solved.

Well, I replaced the current folder.jpg image in the Michelle Williams folder in the IBN hierarchy with one depicting the correct Ms. Williams.

 

And it does show up in the People view (albeit with a slightly wonky aspect ratio):

 

 

BUT, on the Movie page, I'm STILL seeing the old MW image, despite trying a refresh of the metadata, a restart of the server, and a rerun of the People scheduled task. Zombie images - what do I do?

You can assign the IMDB and TMDB ID's to the person in the Metadata editor to fix the mixups.

 

Michelle WIlliams as above is nm0931329 on IMDB and 1812 on TMDB.

 

Then on the video items themselves, you can edit the people if you need to.

OK, thanks, I'll try that. I see that on the current person metadata page, the TMDB reference is 995091 - which turns up an error 404 on the TMDB site...
