josemiel25 3 Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 (edited) How can I check why the recording I had scheduled for this morning at 8:00 AM was missed? Using the latest beta for Windows Server and the Android TV client. Tuner: IPTV M3u I scheduled it last time and it had the red dot in the guide. Today I noticed that it was missed. Which log would have information of why it was missed? Edited September 11, 2018 by saulin
josemiel25 3 Posted September 11, 2018 Author Posted September 11, 2018 Because I don't see it under recordings or I don't see that it created the recording folder or the file at all in the recordings folder on the server and the show is over now and I'm positive I scheduled it and it even showed in the guide as scheduled for recording last night.
sfatula 207 Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 I would love to know the same, i.e., on any given day, other than me manually monitoring the service, is there something in Emby which tells me a scheduled recording did not happen, maybe emby was not running, maybe the tuner had a problem, the station had a problem, who knows what. I'd love to be able to know so I could try and manually reschedule it if it is shown again.

I, too would like Emby to generate a message or log or something when a recording that WAS scheduled was not done. I don't think this would need to include when a user actually DELETES the task, although if Emby generated a "Scheduled Recording" log there would be no harm in this info being written to the log. There have been times that I am POSITIVE I have scheduled a recording a few days before the show was to air, only to find out later it either didn't record OR I was lucky enough to check the schedule on the day the program was to air and find it is not listed as being scheduled. I have suspected the reason for this might have been something in the Schedules Direct info changed that caused Emby to think the specific program I told it to record no longer exists. I don't know how Emby identifies a program ... if it's by name, then maybe the name slightly changed. Or if it's by a numeric ID that we (as users) can't see, perhaps it changed between the time I scheduled the recording and when the day of the recording arrived.
ebr 16212 Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Hi. There are a lot of things we need in this general area of conflict management and recording history. We plan to have these in the future. Thanks. 1

Luke 42093 Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 @ can we please see the emby server log from the time of the recording? You can learn how to do that here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks.
