Placeholders using .STRM files

I'm trying to create a system of 'placeholder' videos that I want to add to my Emby library to remind me of the location of stream-able content that I currently own. I was hoping that using .STRM files would be the most elegant solution.

So far I have created the .strm file and placed it in the otherwise empty movie folder.

For instance the file:

How Stella Got Her Groove Back.strm

contains this single line.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/16xjouvYRCLPeVgFVujE7BpzgPBzAwIoE

The problem that I am having is that Emby server is not recognizing the .strm file at all. Plex actually sees the same file and does add it to its library, despite being unable to play it.

I've added the Placeholders folder to my Movies library and the folder called 'How Stella Got Her Groove Back" containing the 'How Stella Got Her Groove Back.strm' file is never added to Emby.

Unless, I'm misunderstanding what .strm files do, I'm expecting that a movie object with that title should added to my Emby movie collection. When it is clicked I am hoping that it will play the streaming video that I referenced.

Yes, I've followed the instructions in the wiki.

Log attached.

Thanks for your help,

So you aren't getting something like this?

Or are you saying Kodi is not seeing these files?

No, the movie is not in my Emby movie library.

What does your folder structure look like?

I'm using .disc files for this, just as I do for real discs (DVD, Blu-Ray, HD-DVD) and then I'm adding a genres tag like "Google Play", "DVD" etc. to it.

These are also shown on Kodi (using Emby for Kodi).

Ok, I think we can consider this issue partially-resolved. I finally realized that I hadn't selected the newly-created library in the Access tab on the User setting page. The movies are now showing up in the main movie listing. However, the streaming link does not work and you basically have to re-start the Emby clients after attempting to play one of them.
