Cybergy 4 Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 About 5:30am today I was unable to find any channel that worked from Emby. Perfect Player saw may channels on the same box. The Emby spp said, tuner not available. A few minutes before I restarted my Emby server just because things often work better when I do. No VPN on either end (android or server). To be honest Emby almost never goes without some sort of error for me. I hate to switch gears after all this time spent but at some point it's enough. Anyway, here's the server log embyserver.txt
maegibbons 1287 Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 There is one attempt at 5.22 that fails but that is to a different channel than was working an hour earlier. It looks as though it is going to open then does not. This could still be an individual stream error. There are no other attempts logged at opening other channels. Krs Mark
Cybergy 4 Posted September 3, 2018 Author Posted September 3, 2018 I tried 2-3 times, enabled debug, tried again and sent a log.
maegibbons 1287 Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Ok further clarification. I can see YOU tried to start something playing. It appears emby just did not try and open the stream. My interest is peaked since I occasionaly see a similar type of issue when recording. You may like to try the Beta server because @@Luke has put in some more Logging in around the opening of streams to try and track down situations such as this. In the meantime, and emby server restart is the only way to get it back on track Krs Mark
maegibbons 1287 Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 (edited) Also When you switch on Debug logging you have to restart the server to activate which is why there is no debug logging in your logs. It is best to keep debug logging ON always. Krs Mark Edited September 3, 2018 by maegibbons
Cybergy 4 Posted September 3, 2018 Author Posted September 3, 2018 I had to setup my android box again and reinstall everything, so I assume debug is not on by default.

Hi I was actually referring to server debug logging rather than app. Turn on server debug logging and restart server. Its the server that opens the IPTV streams so thats the most important for debuggin this sort of issue. Krs Mark
ebr 16187 Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 I tried 2-3 times, enabled debug, tried again and sent a log. Hi. Can you please provide the requested information? Reproduce your problem and then use this button to send the log. Then add the following information to your report in the forum: Exactly what you were doing and what happened. Include the name of whatever you played if it is a playback problem The time you sent the log The name of the Emby user on the local server that was logged in at the time
Cybergy 4 Posted September 4, 2018 Author Posted September 4, 2018 Debugging now enabled on server. Username was Rob
ebr 16187 Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 From the app side it timed out waiting for playback information on the channel.
Cybergy 4 Posted September 4, 2018 Author Posted September 4, 2018 Playback info is details of the feed (720p, 1080p, .ts, etc)?
Luke 42081 Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 Perhaps your iptv stream was down at the time?
Cybergy 4 Posted September 4, 2018 Author Posted September 4, 2018 No, the message was “tuner not available” Luke. I tried perfect player directly to the provider to verify that each channel I tested was actually working and they all were.
ebr 16187 Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 No, the message was “tuner not available” Luke. No, actually, it wasn't. I understand those are the words you saw but what the message actually said was (emphasis mine): Unable to tune to channel at this time. There may not be a tuner available. The next release of the app is going to remove the second sentence from that message.
