roberthleeii 61 Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 I have been playing with the converting feature to help with better streaming to the devices in my house. I was finding that some of my recordings (mostly larger ones) were sluggish when streaming and transcoding. Watching AGT it was taking upwards of 10 or more seconds to "buffer" after fast forwarding and this is on a wired connection. After converting (and replacing) the file it direct streamed and worked seamlessly. I also noticed that the file was considerably smaller. I decided to start converting more shows to save a little space and make my files work better at the house. First I noticed that after the current episodes are converted it is listed as failed when it waits for more episodes to be recorded even though the new MP4 file is there and everything is working fine. I am just assuming that that this is because there were no files to convert and the failure is because this there was no work done. ***My main issue is that I converted some of my old recordings and some of them are not being converted. They are listed as Queued but when it runs they do not convert. On some of the series some files convert and not others. Rerunning the task does not work either. I started recording a tv show (Married… with children) because it is coming on a lot over the next couple of days and I could experiment with it with out messing up my other recordings. As those episodes were recording they were converting and the others were still just queued. What do I need to do to convert my files? I have included a log of running the task and the shows not converting, one of the ffmpeg logs from when it ran, and a screen snip of what the converting window looks like on my dashboard. Luke 42085 Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 ***My main issue is that I converted some of my old recordings and some of them are not being converted. If they already meet the criteria of the conversion, then they won't be re-converted. In other words if you select mp4 at 4mbps, and your files already meet that, then they won't convert. Does that answer your question?
