sfatula 207 Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Question, I have in Sync Settings in the box titled Upload speed limit (Mbps):, the value 2. I Cloud Synced a video to Google Drive, and, watched for 22 minutes as it uploaded at 4Mbps (my meager upload max speed). The instant the sync was done, upload speed went to about 0. Was watching via my router traffic monitor which works great. So.... Wondering if a Cloud Sync actually uses that setting? Did I need to restart Emby after adding Google Drive? Is that setting for something else? I did the cloud sync via the web interface.
Luke 42083 Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Hi, we'll test this out and ensure that it's working properly for the next release. Thanks. @@softworkz
sfatula 207 Posted August 31, 2018 Author Posted August 31, 2018 This was on ubuntu 18.04.1. Bonus question, now that it is synced to Google Drive, how do I play it from my iPad? I see nothing in the emby app that shows me there is this video in Google Drive. Or, is it not meant to be played in emby? Perhaps, I just download it via the drive app and play it from there? If it is supposed to be played from emby, I see something is there only on the sync screen, but, I see nowhere to play it. Nor can I see which episode it was.

Hi, the first paragraph in our wiki article goes over how playback is handled: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Google%20Drive So it's an automatic feature. However, there is an issue with this in the 3.5 release and it's been resolved for the next release (3.6). So for cloud sync fans, 3.6 should be the release that brings it all together. Thanks.
admhost 0 Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 Resolved for Emby Server 3.6. Hi luke, I signed Emby, installed, configured and synchronized a file. This version is okay here 3.6 But seeing the downloaded file (SINC), how do I play this same file in CLOUD. has a specific folder indicating that these are files synchronized in google drive, where is this option to assist the cloud? Thank you.
Luke 42083 Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 Hi there, to learn how our cloud sync feature works, please check out our wiki: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Google%20Drive Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
admhost 0 Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 Hi Luke, thanks for replying. Will the playback of the file be in the cloud? and not by my servant? the app I installed, will it make external access to my local network? Will opu just run right from my server? I already connected by the emby conect but not the access outside my network to my server ... do you have a step by step to this?
Luke 42083 Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 Hi, the step by step is in the wiki article. Did you check that out? Yes, it will play from the cloud. Please let us know if this helps.
timartinelli 0 Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 Luke, when can we test the 3.6 will it take to leave?
Luke 42083 Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 Beta testers are already testing it. Hopefully we'll have it ready soon. Thanks. 1
admhost 0 Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 hello luke I got this morning accessing my file in the cloud, and it works perfectly, but it works only with my emby server turned on. QUESTIONS: 1 - There will be some project in which you access the media without having to leave the server connected. 2 - When accessing the emby theater app, in the selected media the name of the local main file appears, as well as what is in the cloud, but instead of the filename, a series of letters and numbers, for example xyaeiur12ltruy.sd480p. This will be fixed to the actual filename. Also, I want to thank for the excellent work, which I have been following the emby of some times, signed, canceled, but now I am back, and seeing that the team is working hard to achieve the best goals. the main factor of the emby, for me is the synchronism of the files, that every day is improving.
Luke 42083 Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 There will be some project in which you access the media without having to leave the server connected. It's possible for the future. We can look at improving the name in the dropdown. Thanks.
admhost 0 Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 Hi Luke, Now that I've canceled my subscription with plex, due to its disconnection as announced, I'm dedicating to EMBY. I have accessed my files from the cloud through my server, which is very good. But when is a version ready, that can access from the cloud without the use of my server? I have a small problem connecting outside my network, you have some suggestion to solve ... but accessing locally works very well .... Are the converted files already optimized for emby applications? Thank you luke.
Luke 42083 Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 It currently requires the server, but yes they are optimized for streaming with emby apps.
