Additional actor, director and producer scraping

I recently found a need to look up additional information on a director. I was hoping to look at the director's profile and see not only the movies I had in my collection but also a list of other movies that they have directed. This would be displayed below the library's current movies. ex:

 

My movies:

Movie 1, Movie 2

 

Other movies by this person:

Movie 3, Movie4

 

================

 

This could help one expand their library and to discover a missing gem.

Yes, it's a nice feature ! Will be perfect with a link near title to show the corrispective url to IMDB too for example to quick open it and\or a checkbox to put them in a sot of Watchlist Wannabe to keep track of what missing on a collection.

I would like to expand on this a bit. Not only would I like to see a list of all the media in library with the Actor/Director/Writer as it does now, but also list any that not in library.

It would be also a good idea to pre-fetch the name of the roles as well so when you open up Mark Harmon's page you see the cover and under it:

This would be terrific to add. I use this in Plex quite a bit to discover new movies/shows based on cast members.

I would love to have this feature in Emby! It's the only thing that still makes me consider Plex and such integration would be terrific

This will be a killer feature. 
Alongside the ability to have a "Watchlist" or something, like IMDB does, so we can save titles that we want to watch in the future.

I totally agree.. I browse by Director as i consider them to be the most important person -s  in creating a movie.. I currently use plex and now that plex has removed this feature on my LG but not on my computer (display Directors Name and being able to find other movies from the same director) i am looking for an alternate media player and i am very disappointed Emby does not currently have this feature.... May i say movie buffs are interested in Directors Actors Writers etc and for me in this order.. It would seem an easy feature to add

Emby Premier for a long while but finally converted from Plex a few months ago. Really missing this from Plex.

 

My thought is that it would pull on demand, so as not to impact the database.

 

It would be great for someone from the Emby team to weigh in here. They've agreed it would be a good addition both here and some other threads, but no movement or engagement on it in the last 7 years.

As someone who is currently looking to move from Plex and thinking about purchasing an Emby lifetime plan, this is the only feature I'll greatly miss from the move.
Being able to check a director or actor filmography list (with posters) is much needed. We all have this nerve-racking urge to know in which film we saw that one actor.
Crazy to think people are asking for this feature for 7 years now!

I'm now writing a python code for this that inserts the movie list into the movie description, taking into account the existing movies. The python code is not part of emby, it communicates through an emby API.

Can be run from anywhere as it communicates via the emby API. and TMDB API

There are still problems with it, I'm trying to fix it.
