nuentes 41 Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 Ok, I have officially abandoned using Kodi profiles. They are crap. Liking EmbyCon so far. I'm using the Box skin, and that seems to have a lot of the same support for adding favorites that Titan has, so I'm getting all set up. Haven't figured out widgets yet, but this is all for another post after I've done my research. When I'm in "TV Shows - All", there are a fair amount of Sort options, but Episodes is not one of them. 99% of my time is spent with TV filtered to unwatched and sorted by # episodes. This makes it far easier to see which shows have new episodes that came out, and easier to see which shows I'm closing to being caught up on. Is it possible to add this? Thanks so much for this addon!
nuentes 41 Posted August 28, 2018 Author Posted August 28, 2018 (edited) In Kodi 17.6 at the TV Show level, there are 6 sort options: Title Episodes Last Played Date Added Year My Rating In EmbyCon at the TV show level, there are 7 sort options available: Title Year Date Added Genre Default Rating Name First of all - what is the difference between Title and Name? Second of all, Default doesn't really seem to do anything...? And third if we're going to argue about the usefulness of sorting by episode - what is the point of sorting by genre? When you are in the middle of the list, how do you even know what genre shows you are looking at? Anyway, my point is that I typically sort by episodes in this view. I filter out all watched items in TV shows, and this sorts them in a way that I prefer. Shows with the least amount of unwatched episodes are at the top. I find this easier to keep current on the shows I am actively watching. EmbyCon is correctly reporting the episode count for each show - that's not the issue. I want to sort based on that info, which is a feature that I've been using in Kodi for like 5 years. Edited August 28, 2018 by nuentes
nuentes 41 Posted August 28, 2018 Author Posted August 28, 2018 Close - it sorts low-to-high in ascending sort mode, so at the top, it shows TV shows with the LEAST unwatched episodes. Generally it's shows with just 1 or 2 unwatched episodes, with secondary alphabetical sorting. When I go to the bottom of the TV Shows, I basically see shows I haven't started yet that have 6 or more seasons. I figured since the episode count is displayed on the screen, it would be available as something to use for sorting. But yes - consider my expectations to be set. But this is something that might even be a dealbreaker for me, and if it's impossible, I might actually just revert to kodi v16 and try kodi profiles again. Thanks!
