WSig 2 Posted August 27, 2018 Posted August 27, 2018 Is there a way to "prefer" a certain filetype / have a filetype be written over? Scenario: Emby records Live TV via DVR functionality with .ts, then backend system downloads a better-quality, smaller .mkv with commercials taken out. I end up with 2 files (duplicates). It would be awesome if there was a smart way to delete one of the two. Is this possible?
Luke 42077 Posted August 27, 2018 Posted August 27, 2018 Hi, the auto-organize plugin can help do some of this. What i mean is if you have your downloading app download to a temp folder, the auto-organize plugin can watch that folder and then move the downloads into your tv library. And when it does this, it has an option to replace existing files. However, in order for auto-organize to be able to do anything, it needs to be able to identify the content on tvdb, so that means the downloaded files will have to be named in a way that allows that to happen. And also be aware that it's a community maintained plugin and may not be perfect. Thanks.
WSig 2 Posted August 28, 2018 Author Posted August 28, 2018 Thanks @@Luke! That makes sense, and I think I can make that work.
WSig 2 Posted August 28, 2018 Author Posted August 28, 2018 P.S. - it doesn't seem like replace movie files is saving as an option.
Luke 42077 Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 Thanks. Perhaps @@PoppyPop will consider adding that.
WSig 2 Posted August 28, 2018 Author Posted August 28, 2018 @@Luke @@PoppyPop I actually meant that it's there now, it just doesn't seem to be saving correctly (screenshot).
