Saving Metadata for Music/Albums

I am trying to save metadata for songs with multiple artists. Emby supports this with a semicolon in the artist field. Because other players, like Google Music, Itunes, don't support multiple artist tags in ID3 metadata, I was hoping to store that info in an Emby metadata compatible format (I assume this would be saved in the NFO?)

My question is, when I save metadata for a song, where does it save that metadata? I would like to know so that if I transfer my songs to a new server, etc I don't want to loose all my data entry.

 

In each album, there is a file called "album.nfo" but that doesn't appear to save the new metadata I enter in emby there...

 

Any help would be appreciated!

Song metadata goes into the emby database only. Album.nnfo is for album level metadata, and that will update when the album gets updated. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

My follow up question would be, is there a technique for backing up the emby database? Lets say I upgrade my server and want to restore all my metadata?
