syralk 13 Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Hi there I'm currently using Emby-server on my Windows server but I see went its scanning the library or updating the the EPG guide that it slow down the access to everyone. so I install the other emby server on the same machine and the other one seem to not be affected went it run. I'm just tinking of a solution to avoid lagging and make sure it will work. The process that seem to lag emby are Scan Library and update EPG both process are link to the file "library.db" I was wondering if I take 2 Computer Computer1 and Computer2 put emby-server portable on the C:\emby-server\ on both computers then make the computer1 the one that users access and make the computer2 the one that process the Scan Library and update EPG and make a task that the computer2 copy the "library.db" to the computer1 when the process is done...by closing the emby-server copy then open it again. for what I think it will be a solution. just wondering if the watched history of the users will be lost during this process ? if you have a better solution let me know
Luke 42078 Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Sorry, I'm unclear on the problem you are experiencing.
syralk 13 Posted August 23, 2018 Author Posted August 23, 2018 (edited) Sorry, I'm unclear on the problem you are experiencing. pretty much when the emby-server do the Running Task "Refresh Guide" & "Scan Library" the server access is slower so I was ondering if I could have a second emby-server "emby-server2" that will process those task. So this way the users can access the emby-server "emby-server1" without any issue. When the emby-server2 have finish to process the task to copy past the database to the emby-server1 by closing the process and copy the database file then open emby-server1 it again. syralk 13 Posted August 23, 2018 Author Posted August 23, 2018 (edited) just to be clear the task Refresh Guide is the one slowing down the most Scan Library is slowing a little bit for about 10 minutes at they end of the process Edited August 23, 2018 by syralk
Luke 42078 Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 It should be faster with the next release, but even still, you do need to be aware that these operations do have a cost, and you may need to adjust their schedules to fit your needs. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
