Anyone know why this happens? Tried to stream on both the desktop with the files on it and an android device, too. Restarting the server and the computer has done nothing. Thanks!

The libraries won't refresh either, if that's relevant

Hi @@george.smathers, In your case, you denied remuxing/transcoding permissions for your emby user, so you're actually getting exactly what you asked for. There is a warning about this on the user edit screen that indicates this may cause playback failures.

Any ideas for my case? Should I reinstall Emby?

Thanks for the quick response, I think this is the ffmpeg log.

Well it looks like ffmpeg just does not get started properly.

IF scanning is broken your ffmpeg installation may be broken for some reason.

Can you post a server log after you have run a scan?

Can you try another file that needs transcoding - avi file types can cause issues.

You could try re-installing emby from a fresh download which will reinstall ffmpeg.

I'm running into the same issue with some music files -- most of my library is FLAC. MP3 from a second server play fine.

I'm also running into video issues, with sound coming up but no video.

Huh...video works fine on a couple of files. I need to poke more to see if the issue is with MKV.

Alright, this is getting more and more baffling...the music files that aren't playing are FLAC, and they're pretty much all my recent rips. These play just fine otherwise and, indeed, I had at least one of them playing fine via Emby.

Nothing?

I'm getting weirdness in library scans, too, bt I'll need to be a bit more coherent there.

Also, Emby is taking a long, long time to get anywhere on the Roku app, though this is inconsistent.
