nyplayer 90 Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 (edited) Silicondust has released Premium TV for HDHomerun users and they state it can be incorporated into 3rd party apps like emby and plex. When will Plex, Emby, Kodi, the Channels app on iOS, and other third parties be able to access Premium TV channels? These channels are available to third party services right now, the same way regular over the air channels are. Accessing and making them visible to the user on these platforms does take some code tweaking though, particularly for those services that provide their own DVR, so we cannot say exactly when third party services will integrate these channels. With that said, we are happy to work with any third party developers to get integrated as quickly as possible. https://forum.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=92&p=324449#p324449 Edited August 18, 2018 by nyplayer 3
Luke 42077 Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Yup we have already been discussing this with them and we are already testing the feature ourselves. We plan to support it. Thanks 6

kanipek 230 Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 I know this is a brand new service. Has anyone figured out how the Emby EPG will get data for these channels?
jasonmcroy 316 Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 That would be awesome Luke! I am just waiting for them to release the ability to sign up (supposed to be today sometime) and I am all in. I am going to use two extra Extend units I have laying around for the premium channels and keep my Duo and Quatro for OTA as I have it now. It is perfect for me because the few premium channels I actually watch content from are all available so it is going to be perfect. It will be great to keep all this within just Emby's interface.
garyan2 53 Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 I know this is a brand new service. Has anyone figured out how the Emby EPG will get data for these channels? I'm brainstorming a way for EPG123 to have "custom" lineups based on the users subscribed lineups that will be able to create an XMLTV file for emby if needed. The channels can be numbered just like the channels in the tuners so that the auto-mapping can work. This caught me by surprise, so I'm behind already. Conceptually, I have been working on the custom lineups for a long time (I wanted it for my SlingTV subscription). 1
kanipek 230 Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 (edited) This would be a huge addition to the already great epg123. Looking forward to seeing that day! Thanks Gary. Seems maybe Schedules Direct could add this lineup? I see it grabs a tuner off my HDHR Connect Quatro if that means anything at all. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
nyplayer 90 Posted August 20, 2018 Author Posted August 20, 2018 Plex is already working both playing and recording … hope schedules direct can add the lineup. 1

Sammy 790 Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 I did exactly that on my own volition and intuition but upon channel scan, Plex DVR did not find these channels even though they are there on the Quatro's WebGUI and viewable in the HDHomeRun app on my ShieldTV. Next step. Thanks for the link. Still it would be very nice if Emby incorporates ComSkip along with these new channels. I still need to compare them with what I have with YoutubeTV and Philo but options are good! Probably SiliconDust will add more in the future at different tiers. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
nyplayer 90 Posted August 20, 2018 Author Posted August 20, 2018 I also got this working in EMBY ... Removed all my tuners added the Quatro and Selected my Comcast Cable line up ... and it just works.
jasonmcroy 316 Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 I also got this working in EMBY ... Removed all my tuners added the Quatro and Selected my Comcast Cable line up ... and it just works. Do your Comcast channel numbers match the SD line-up?

hstamas 179 Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Guys before you go too crazy deleting tuners and remapping channels note the issue here on the SD discussion forum that some of the feeds seem to be east and west cost. So until, for instance Schedules Direct has a proper lineup in place for this service air times are going to be off for some channels: https://forum.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=119&t=69230&start=225
