Improperly Identified Movie

Every so often I get an item that misidentifies. What I usually do is go to Metadata Manager, clear everything out, and then edit the external IDs (after researching) to point to the correct movie for all services, and then delete all the related art files and .nfo or whatever is out there other than the streaming file itself.

I'm having no such luck with "Lego DC Comics Super Heroes - Aquaman Rage of Atlantis."

At first it stubbornly insisted it was "the Lego Movie" now it's stubbornly insisting it's the "Lego Batman Movie"

I cannot get it to identify itself correctly.

when this happens to me, i click on the misidentified movie, then there should be a button with 3 dots that lists a menu, one of the items listed will be identify, click on that, and search for the movie as it is listed on moviedb, make sure the year is correct, and it should find it for you and correct all the metadata automatically.

What is it named and what is the name of the folder it's in?  LEGO DC Super Heroes - Aquaman Rage Of Atlantis (2018)\LEGO DC Super Heroes - Aquaman Rage Of Atlantis (2018).mkv should identify automatically unless there is an issue in the moviedb results.  Then you can use the identify function.

I didn't have the year in there. The year didn't even fix it. Perhaps there is an issue with the long file names? I had originally "Lego DC Comics Superheroes - Aquaman Rage of Atlantis" as both folder and .mkv name. When I realized I had a typo I renamed both to "Lego DC Comics Super Heroes - Aquaman Rage of Atlantis" that's when it changed its finding from Lego movie to Lego Batman. Adding the year didn't help, however the identify button did resolve that problem.

Interestingly enough I just had the reverse with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. That show was not identifying at all. I hit Identify and I got no results. I added (1997) and it immediately identified.

I'm starting to wonder if something got knocked a little bit off with the identification algorithm(s).

Can we look at the server log from that example? I just tried using Identify on a movie, punched in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" as the title, and got this:

I've had issues a couple times with movie identification, luckily they have been few and far between.

The few times I had bad issues I copied the movie to another place, then deleted the media through the Emby client.

I cleaned out the folder so it was just the video file, found the movie in IMDB or TheMovieDB and double checked the name and year.  One of them the year I had didn't match the year for TheMovieDB.

I copied back to the Library and ran a scan.  All but once it correctly identified after that.  The one time it didn't I went into the movie, clicked the 3 dots, then Identify.  I located the IMDB or TheMovieDB ID, cleared everything and pasted the ID and Year (from the same site, I've seen IMDB and TheMovieDB have diff years a few times).

So far I haven't had a movie that refused to identify correctly (knock on wood)
