berrick 30 Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Hi All, Have things changed regards being able to save images/metadata etc to the media folder (the folder which the audio files are in)? Currently running v3.5.2.0 Save artwork into media folders is ticked Replace all metadata & Replace existing images in metadata manager are ticked When I click refresh i can see in the log files are being saved (see below) but not to the media folders? Saving image to C:\Users\administrator\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\metadata\library\f0\f0721d45a271d1679303ebebb43ebbbe\poster.jpg TIA
berrick 30 Posted August 18, 2018 Author Posted August 18, 2018 Hi Luke, I have tried metadata manager, refreshing the from the individual folders using refresh metadata, replace all images, replace existing images. And scan library option from the library menu
Luke 42078 Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 It may have tried to save to your media folder, but then was denied write access and therefore automatically switched to the internal metadata folder. Can you attach the emby server log? thanks.

berrick 30 Posted August 20, 2018 Author Posted August 20, 2018 Hi both, This is a music Library. Emby server runs on Windows 7 with media on a freenas share. I did think it maybe a permission issue but I can access all folders on this share from the PC. Logs attached
berrick 30 Posted August 21, 2018 Author Posted August 21, 2018 Not sure why they didn't attach last time. Hopefully they have this time TIA embyserver-logs.zip
Luke 42078 Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Which log is from the time that you refreshed something?
berrick 30 Posted August 21, 2018 Author Posted August 21, 2018 Luke, Take a look at embyserver-63670233601. At least one of the log files covers attempts to update metadata. If you want me to capture logs from a specific attempt/operation just let me know what yu need me to do.
Luke 42078 Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 It looks like some nfo saves occurred. 2018-08-18 14:22:49.567 Debug ProviderManager: Saving \\EMPIRICNAS\DataStore\music\# - C\Alannah Myles - Alannah Myles to Nfo.
berrick 30 Posted August 22, 2018 Author Posted August 22, 2018 Yes NFO files are saved BUT no images are saved in the media folders they are only saved to the server
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 It shouldn't matter, but could this be a quirk with this really old installation "MediaBrowser-Server"?
Luke 42078 Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Have you enabled the image providers in your emby library settings?
berrick 30 Posted August 23, 2018 Author Posted August 23, 2018 Hi Luke, The only thing not ticked when I go to manage library -> show advanced settings is Download images in advance
Luke 42078 Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Hi Luke, The only thing not ticked when I go to manage library -> show advanced settings is Download images in advance What image providers are enabled?
berrick 30 Posted August 23, 2018 Author Posted August 23, 2018 Basically they are all enabled but specifcally for audio MusicAlbum metadata downloaders: MusicBrainz TheAudioDB MusicArtist metadata downloaders: MusicBrainz TheAudioDB MusicAlbum Image Fetchers FanArt TheAudioDB MusicArtist Image Fetchers FanArt TheAudioDB
Luke 42078 Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Ok, in the log it doesn't even look like it attempted to download images, so check that your music albums have music brainz id's assigned.
berrick 30 Posted August 24, 2018 Author Posted August 24, 2018 Hi Luke, It is pulling some images but they are being saved to the server. Not all music has id's but I specifically ensured those individual artists or albums I was testing did Currently I have altered the library settings so only nfo and save to media folders are ticked. Next I will start selecting options and test specific folders
Luke 42078 Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 Sounds like future images will be saved to album folders then.
berrick 30 Posted August 24, 2018 Author Posted August 24, 2018 This is frustrating.... I have now just the following ticked under manager library MusicAlbum metadata downloaders: MusicBrainz TheAudioDB MusicArtist metadata downloaders: MusicBrainz TheAudioDB MusicAlbum Image Fetchers FanArt TheAudioDB MusicArtist Image Fetchers FanArt TheAudioDB I have entered the artist and album ids for a test folder. I have tested the ids and they take me to the relevant website page for the artist and album. However when I click metadata refresh replace all images, still, only the nfo gets updated in the media folder. Not sure if this is correct but this is the only entery in the nfo for art is shown below and its not pointing to the media folder <art> <poster>https://www.theaudiodb.com/images/media/album/thumb/voices-of-animals-and-men-53ebd8d87e699.jpg</poster> </art>
Luke 42078 Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 ok then it looks like you're all set as far as i can see. if you notice the banner at the top of the library setup dialog, it says that any changes only apply to new items added. you probably started with defaults and that explains why you didn't get metadata in your album folders.
berrick 30 Posted August 24, 2018 Author Posted August 24, 2018 (edited) Hi Luke, Yes I saw that but this is after I do a manual update! or does clicking metadata "refresh replace all images" not mean it does a manual update?? In fact I even deleted a folder and re added it and it still didnt save images to folder Edited August 24, 2018 by berrick
Luke 42078 Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 Well i'm unable to reproduce this, so just in case there might be an issue with 3.5.2, I would suggest trying again with the next thanks. thanks.
Diedrich 377 Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 FreeNAS 11.1-U6 changed the min SMB protocol. You may need to look there for a potential solution.
