Multi-select lists is a very old usability feature on every GUI since Xerox PARC.

 

As an example, if I want to add some tracks from an album to a playlist, it's tedious to click on every track, add to playlist, and so on.

This was previously possible with right-click in the Web app in most cases (except in playlists, AFAICT), but is now gone in the beta version to show the same context menu that the three-dot icon shows. Any ETA on this coming back?

I guess he would like to generate smart playlist from filters : 

Playlist based on all movies from a specific genre, or all albums out on a specific year or decade
