Emby Server Install Fails - after system re-image

Sorry, but I seem to have a natural ability to break Emby.

 

 

I got a nasty malware bug on my Windows 7 Pro system (the dedicated Emby Server) when I tried to activate windows.  So I re-installed windows (Pro 7) which moved the existing structure to windows.old, scanned the data with malwarebytes and removed the (PoS) malware.  I patched Win7 with SP1. Then I began to setup emby again.

 

I was hoping to keep my recordings and config, so before installing I copied the old AppData\roaming\Emby-Server structure from windows.old, to the new roaming location.  

 

On first install Emby DLd and installed dot net 4.6 and c++.  All appeared well but I don't recall seeing "installation complete".  I rebooted the system.

 

Now when I try to start emby server nothing happens.  Dashboard webpage does not respond.

 

 

Thoughts?

Hi, for Windows 7 you need to make sure Windows updates are fully up to date, otherwise this is exactly what will happen.

Windows Updates will be continuing for a while I suspect. They seem to take a breather and then start up again.

 

If I install over the old install path, would my settings and recordings be picked up?
