No confirmation on recording

Hi,

i have had this issue since the beginning.

My server is on a different machine than the theater app.

I have a hardwire ethernet connection.

In the guide, when I select record or record series the busy icon will display forever.

It seems that in most or all cases the record is scheduled as I do have recordings (although I now use NextPVR to set recordings so it's a bit confused).

Also, in the guide I only once saw the red recording dot indicator once for a fraction of a second. Basically there is no program recording indicators in the guide although they are scheduled. Also, often the program descriptions in guide are severely delayed, i.e. the descriptions lag the highlighted program for up to minutes.

I don't know if this could be related but in the setup-server menu I have always sen multiple server icons, all the same name (i only have 1 server).

Usually I can select any of them to connect but recently I noticed that only 1 was valid.

Thanks

Hi, there's probably a disconnect between what is supported via next pvr and the options you see on screen. If you can please attach the emby server log the next time this happens, that would be helpful. thanks.

Just to clarify, I do have recordings scheduled in Emby as far as i can tell. I only setup recordings in NextPVR initially because i could not tell if Emby recordings were working. I tried to cancel all recording in NextPVR but not sure how to do that unless i see the item in the NextPVR guide.

Problem in Emby theatre occurs every time - when record is selected on a item in schedule I get the busy icon forever, record menu page never finishes and I never see the red record indicator in the guide. However i do see recordings scheduled and they are available in Recordings menu so it's really a guide update issue.

The attached log includes the startup of Theatre and selecting an item in the guide to record (busy icon for several minutes).

Thanks

What kind of tuner do you have?

I don't really see any obvious problem here. Did you check the next pvr software to see if they were cancelled?

Have you tried uninstalling next pvr and just using Emby's native hauppauge support?

Ok, did not know there was native support for PCI tuners.

I removed NextPVR app and the plugin, rebooted server machine.

My server version is 3.5.2.0

However, Emby cannot detect tuners. I select other and detect and it can't find anything.

Live TV no longer works, no streams (tried on the server machine also).

Even before I removed Nextpvr I did not see the tuners although livetv worked, it appears a server update caused them to disappear from the setup although they still worked.

Was the upgrade to pci tuner support seamless?

Installing the Hauppage drivers was madness (years ago). Luckily I had the old drivers saved and I had to reinstall windows etc.(Win 7).

Hauppage driver 1800 is 1.58.34237.0 and 2250 is 7.9.1.34216

I could remove and install Emby also only takes about 5 mins and seems to preserve scheduled recordings.

Is win10 better for livetv? I need to upgrade, just been putting it off.

Are the hauppauge drivers up to date?

i have a feeling my issue is because I'm running the server on a separate machine vs. Theatre and I'm using PCI tuners.

I was wondering why I seemed to be the only user with this issue and the occasional invalid stream on live tv (a theory anyhow)

I'll try installing the hauppage WinTV to see if my tuners show up.

If not I'll consider purchasing a different tuner.

LiveTV still works with NextPVR but it may be that this causes the record confirmation issues and occasional LiveTV invalid stream..
