Kodi resets watch position

Just installed  a fresh Kodi 17.6 and the Emby addon.

If I play a movie in Kodi and skip to the middle I can see that in the Emby home (http://192.168.1.5:8096/web/index.html#!/home.html) the movie is being watched. If I click on STOP in Kodi, the half filled circle icon &  the tiny progress bar will be added to the poster.

A second later the poster will refresh again and will loose the half filled circle and the tiny progress bar.

Going back to Emby home - the movie is no longer under watched status.

Pressing on the movie again from Kodi will start it from the beginning.

This happens with Native play and Addon play.

Is this a known bug? If not I can supply logs \ video \ what ever is necessary.

Thanks

Yes supply your Kodi log. Sounds like you don't have a runtime detected in Emby possibly.

Sure thing.

I opened Kodi, played a movie, fast fwd 30 minutes & stopped. Position was saved and than disappeared.

I should also mention that I'm using NVIDIA Shield.

Edit:

This looks relevant:

22:47:16.051 T:149300819184  NOTICE: EMBY.kodimonitor -> Method: VideoLibrary.OnUpdate Data: {"id":5,"type":"movie"}
22:47:16.059 T:149300819184  NOTICE: EMBY.kodimonitor -> Item is invalid for playstate update

The current position vs the file runtime seems way off. How long is the video runtime in minutes?

It's a 01:32:34 movie (92 minutes)

Btw, this happens in all my content, not just that movie.

I understand that. I will have another look once I am home. Kinda difficult to troubleshoot from my phone, but there's something wrong with the current position. When you stopped, it shows you played 0% essentially.

Thanks

Let me know if I can supply anything else that will help.

Actually, can you try re-doing your test and going a bit slower. Start the video, then seek, then wait 5 seconds. Does it reflect the right time on your server dashboard > under active devices?

Edit: If it doesn't, then I might have an idea why this is not working.

I think that's it. Seeking and then immediately pressing STOP apparently messes up things. Waiting 5 seconds after seeking didn't help but waiting 20 seconds kept the watch position after STOP. I'll test this some more and report back. Thanks!

Thanks, ok I know what the issue is. I'll make a temp build for you to test. I'm currently eating, so give me a bit.

Awesome! I'll test it when I get home.

I've installed the new version and was still able to reproduce this randomly (perhaps related to the amount of time between SEEK & STOP)

In the next paste all movies kept position except "Inside Out" which was the last movie I played.
