gareth 1 Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 I've just been going through my media collection and noticed that quite a few episode thumbnails/info is missing, I've included a screenshot as an example showing my metadata folder on one side and MBT on the other side with some thumbnails/info showing up perfectly fine, and some just missing. This is on MBT version 3.0.5182.20892 and MBS 3.0.5192.19560. It seems to be random as to which episodes/shows have missing info. I use Media Center Master to get all my metadata and I have double checked that the metadata is all there. I can include more info/screenshots if it is required. Any ideas?
gareth 1 Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 Yeah same in webclient also, see attatched screenshots
gareth 1 Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 Just noticed it's also not showing up actor images, just checked my imagesbyname folder I definitely have the image for Piper Perabo (I just checked that one quickly because it was the first name, haven't bothered checking the others because the folder is not surprisingly huge and it's way too late lol, but I should have all the others aswell etc)
Luke 42077 Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 i would need to see a larger, and readable version of the image you posted in the first post
gareth 1 Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 I'm not at my pc anymore (replying on my phone) but when I get back on tomorrow I can put an imgur link up to the fullsize image? If it helps I'll also attatch the actual metadata files for one of the episodes that's having the issues. Anything else I can send over that will be of help? Cheers 1
IcyBergals 8 Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 (edited) It's probably MCM deleting the files. I just ran the folder cleaning service, which I believe MCM asks if you want to it run any time you auto-rename files, on the television series 24, of which I have only season 2. It deleted two thumb.jpg and Theme.mp3 along with thumbnails that were not created with MCM (I believe). MCM's cleaner left all of the thumbnails that are named in a "random" number format, like 189280, 189281, etc and deleted the two thumbnails that were named in following my current naming convention, 24 - 2x01 - Day 2, 8-00 A.M.-9-00 A.M. [DVD] [2002-10-29].jpg and 24 - 2x09 - Day 2, 4-00 P.M.-5-00 P.M. [DVD] [2003-01-14].jpg. I see in your first picture above you still have thumbnails following the number format, so MCM probably deleted the ones MB generated. Open up MCM, go to the show you want, click the little + sign next to the show and season, and for any episodes that are highlighted yellow right click and choose Fetch Metadata. gareth 1 Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 Here's the imgur link to the full size original image http://i.imgur.com/hjSEJb0.jpg I don't use mediabrowser to fetch any of my metadata, it's all fetched with MCM and the random number image names is how MCM names the images, and then the metadata xml files point to those images, it works for the other episodes so I can't see it being that that is causing the issue. Also I don't use MCM's auto-rename function or the folder cleaning service. I'm attatching the metadata files for one episode that doesn't show up properly (the mentalist s2 ep4) and one episode that works fine (ncis s1 ep1) It also is not displaying some of my movie posters correctly, instead just showing a thumbnail/screengrab from the movie http://i.imgur.com/YGxA16R.jpg Could it be because I only use MCM to scrape metadata? Though it would be odd that the mass majority of the MCM scraped metadata works, but not some other bits. 2x04 - Red Menace.xml 1x01 - Yankee White.xml
IcyBergals 8 Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Did you verify that MCM believes it has all of the metadata for the episodes? In MCM click the + next to The Mentalist, click the + next to season 0002. Are episodes 4, 5, 6, and 8 highlighted in yellow?
gareth 1 Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 Yeah, it's all there in MCM, and all the files are there physically.
gareth 1 Posted May 4, 2014 Author Posted May 4, 2014 Any ideas on this? I still have this issue, I tried deleting all of my metadata and refetching it all with MCM and the problem still occurs, though the items which have missing data within MBT etc has changed, so for example the episodes of The Mentalist Season 3 that weren't displaying correctly now have fully intact metadata being displayed, and episodes/movies that were displaying correctly before now aren't, it's very odd lol.
gareth 1 Posted May 4, 2014 Author Posted May 4, 2014 Ah no worries let me know if you need anything from me. Many thanks^^

Luke 42077 Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Hi did you get anywhere with this? I have experienced the same thing over the past couple of days, i'm on Version 3.0.5621.4, both web client and emby theater do the same missing artwork/actors thanks This is old, and there is currently no known issue. Best to start over and treat like a new issue. Please see http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/790-how-to-report-a-problem/
