TV Tuner Compatiblity

Hi Guys,

 

I know that it has got to be somewhere but I can not find a post that does advise on compatible TV Tuners but I'm getting given a "AVerMedia A835G Volar HD USB DVB-T TV Tuner" later this week and was wondering if it is compatible with Emby Server?

 

Sorry if I am re-posting this question just couldn't find any listing anywhere that would advise accordingly.

Not Natively.

 

But it may be compatible with Next PVR or Media Portal.  You can then use a plugin to link one of those servers with emby.

That's correct. We support HD Homerun out of the box.

 

To use AverMedia, I would suggest using NextPvr and then you can hook that up with Emby using the NextPvr plugin. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks !

Is there support for DigitalDevices planned, I.e. CineS2?

Hi.  We would like to expand our native tuner support in the future but there is nothing immediately planned for those right now.  One of the plug-ins may support it though.

Yeah I know. DD tuners are supported by almost all major PVR servers - I was actually surprised that Emby works directly as a PVR instead of only relying on plugins
