Or, changed the setting in the Roku as Speechles suggested above.  The Roku can be set to convert that to DD I believe.

 

You cannot send 7.1 over an optical connection.  For that matter, you cannot send 5.1 uncompressed either but your TV must be mixing it down in that case.
