TheRyePie 4 Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 I’m out of state on vacation. I’m trying to cast from my emby server at home to a Chromecast at my in-law’s house. When I touch the cast button it shows the devices on my home network, not the network I’m actually on. I’ve tried the iOS app, android mobile app, and the web app. All have the same results. I am able to play it on my mobile device without any problem, but the chrome casts aren’t listed for me to cast to. I was able to do this 2 years ago with no problem, but no luck now. Running windows server v 3.5.2.0 Any ideas?
Luke 42083 Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Hi, dlna devices will be shown local to your network as they are handled by the server and not the apps. Chromecast on the other hand is different, they are detected by the mobile devices. You need to make sure you're on the same wifi network as the Chromecast device. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
TheRyePie 4 Posted August 11, 2018 Author Posted August 11, 2018 Hi Luke! Thanks for the information on the dlna devices.. as for the Chromecast, yes I am on the same WiFi network. I am able to cast Netflix and psvue, but the chromecasts don’t show up in emby.
Luke 42083 Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 have you tried restarting the emby app? I'm really not sure what to say here, we're using a google api to get the list of chromecast devices. the fact that they're not showing in mobile chrome either is interesting.
